I just got my proof copy for the Season One trade paperback today, I flipped through it to make sure everything looked good before telling the printers to print the rest of the books I need. After that I gave the book to Karen to read (she'd only read the first 2 individual issues so far).
When she got near the end of the book this little surprise was waiting for her.
Keeping this a secret for the past couple of weeks was anything but easy. I wanted to tell her and I was also afraid she'd find out about it on her own (either see the original drawing, or the pre-proof mock-up that I printed up, or the version of this on my computer that we're sharing, etc.).
The smile on her face when she saw it still brightens my day when I think about it.
So I figured now it was time to upload it here too (especially since it's been like 3 months since I submitted anything )
And yeah, I know it says "148" at the bottom, it's a typo I can live with

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.

KISSY FAAAAAAAACE
On a side note her nose is crooked and I have no idea what you're ear is doing.
Those were a couple of made up criticisms I put in so that this comment at least seems real instead of just being shameless praise.
Had I actually critiqued this work, you'd be on the floor in the fetal position humming three blind mice to yourself.

My art is my life... or at least an imitation of someone else's.
